A GP summary and any letter you may have from an orthopaedic surgeon would be useful to help us advise you on the best treatment.
X-ray images are essential to assess your condition accurately. If you had a recent X-ray please try and obtain the images from the radiology department of the hospital.

We will set up a video consultation with your surgeon. Please make sure you have access to a suitable device.
During the consultation your surgeon will assess your condition and answer any questions you may have.
This consultation is free of charge.
If you would like to have a face to face consultation this is possible to arrange either in the UK or in Budapest. Please contact us for details.

We will send you a detailed quote including all services.
Once you have accepted the quote you will need to pay a deposit. The exact amount will depend on the procedure and other arrangements.
We will ask you to fill in an online pre-assessment form, then we will discuss a suitable operation date.
If you have a custom made knee replacement we will organise your CT scan. It takes 6 weeks to manufacture your implant so we will not confirm the operation date for the procedure at this point.

Once your operation date is confirmed you can book your flight. We can help you choose a flight if you need any assistance.
You can book accommodation yourself or choose our all-inclusive package and we take care of it all.
Spend some time thinking about what preparations you need to make for after your return home.
moveUP will be in touch to set up your account so you can start using the app.
We will ask you to settle any outstanding payment at least five days before your surgery date.

If you chose our all-inclusive service we arrange for your transfer to the hotel.
The following day you will have a consultation with your surgeon as well as the necessary pre-operative tests.

On the day of your surgery you will be admitted to the hospital.
Your anaesthetist will see you on the ward and discuss the details of your anaesthetic with you.
Your surgeon will also see you for a final check before your procedure.
After surgery you will spend one or two nights in hospital and start your rehabilitation.
Usual postoperative checks including an X-ray will be arranged.

We recommend that you stay in Budapest for 7-10 days after surgery.
All patients will have access to the moveUP mobile application for remote physiotherapy and advice. You also have the option of booking physiotherapy sessions at the hospital during this period.
Before leaving Budapest a member of the team will see you for a final check at the hospital. We will provide you with a discharge summary and a medical certificate for your airline.

You will need to arrive at the airport well in advance of your flight. Airport transfer is included in our all-inclusive package.

You will continue your rehabilitation using the moveUP remote digital service.
You will have a video/telephone follow-up consultation with your surgeon in 6-8 weeks after your surgery to discuss your progress.
All being well there is no need for further formal appointments or X-rays, although we will ask you to let us know how you are doing from time to time via the moveUP application.
